Each ‘Select’ journey is flexible from the outset, allowing you to personalise your destinations and duration. In each of Europe’s great cities you can choose, between enjoying independent self-discovery or various sightseeing options.

We’ve conducted the research, planned the itineraries, secured the overseas reservations, arranged the transportation and organized every detail. You enjoy perfect freedom while avoiding the daily challenges of braving your own way through a foreign country with different languages, laws, customs, transport and currency.

It works like this. Your perfect package starts when we book your flight – coordinated exclusively with your trip. When you get to your arrival destination, we’ll be waiting to greet you and transfer you to your hotel for your first evening’s Welcome Drink introduction. We’ll handle your luggage throughout your stay and we’ve even built-in tips to hotel porters, wait staff and room service attendants at every stop!

Select hotels are principally first class and superior first class quality in consistently great locations. Because they are near the heart of the action, and because Select itineraries are exceptionally leisurely with multiple night stays, you can do your own thing and explore as you wish – at day or by night. Of course, you won’t want to start the day feeling hungry – so we’ve included a full buffet breakfast each morning.

In every city we’ve included a guided orientation tour showing you many of the greatest sights and places. Then you can begin your own personal exploration taking in sights that match your unique interests.

Our Tour Director will be there throughout your trip to offer well-informed yet unobtrusive assistance as your ‘personal concierge’. As you travel between destinations, your tour director will provide informative en-route commentaries and valuable intelligence. As always with Insight, you’ll travel in comfort. Our smaller group sizes allow us to reconfigure our deluxe coaches to provide up to twice as much legroom as a normal tour coach. In Russia and to Italy you’ll experience traditional express rail routes; at other times you’ll travel on the high-speed services of Europe’s great trains such as Eurostar and TGV.

Select itineraries are flexible in duration. Check the  logo on journey pages. We’re happy to arrange extra nights at the end of the itinerary and in many cases you can even choose to leave early, with free transfers provided. This flexibility is perfect if you are joining a cruise, or going on to do your own thing.

From time to time your tour director will offer special half and full day ‘Experience’ packages to supplement your stay, entirely at your discretion.

Look for the  symbols on each itinerary. These carefully planned excursions, including entrance fees, transportation and local guides as appropriate are priced between €50 - €75 (approx. €70 - €100 when a meal is included as well). These excursions will help you balance in-depth sightseeing and special experiences with dining or independent discovery. See each Select itinerary for suggestions and ideas, but you don’t need to choose before you leave, simply make your decision in Europe as the mood or inspiration takes you.
